King’s Academy, a distinguished co-educational day and boarding school, is situated on a sprawling 144-acre campus in Madaba-Manja, Jordan. With a rich and diverse student body representing over 40 nationalities, the school fosters a vibrant international community.

The school blends a rigorous US-style education grounded in the liberal arts and sciences, while also embracing the language, history and cultural traditions of the Middle East. This unique educational experience encourages students to become well-rounded global citizens with a deep understanding of both Eastern and Western perspectives.

The campus boasts exceptional facilities, including state-of-the-art classrooms, a 55,000-volume library, a multi-faith centre and an astronomical observatory.

Offering 28 Advanced Placement (AP) subjects, the school ensures academic excellence and prepares its students for success. Academics

King’s Academy students consistently achieve impressive academic results, particularly in the AP programme. While exact average scores for AP exams are not publicly shared, students at King’s routinely score well above the benchmark required for college credit and advanced placement.

For example, several King’s Academy students have ranked among the top globally in the Arabic Advanced Level external examinations, underscoring the school's strength in language and cultural studies.

Head teacher

Penny Townsend, the principal of King’s Academy, has a distinguished career in education having held key leadership roles at prominent schools.

Prior to joining King’s Academy, she was the head of Ransom Everglades School in Miami where she oversaw its significant growth and development. Before that, she served as the dean of faculty at The Taft School in Connecticut where she played a pivotal role in faculty development and curriculum innovation. 

Admissions

The admissions process at King’s Academy focuses on identifying students who are academically capable, intellectually curious and a good fit for the school’s diverse, international community.

Applicants are assessed through entrance exams that evaluate English, mathematics, and critical thinking skills.

An important part of the process is the interview, where candidates have the opportunity to demonstrate their personal character, motivation and alignment with the school’s values.
