Spear’s Review
Giles Marshall joined Close Brothers in 2006, tasked with serving the firm’s burgeoning portfolio of HNW clients. It proved to be a wise appointment.
In December 2019, having consistently demonstrated a knack for bringing on new clients and supporting the firm’s regional expansion, Marshall was promoted to its head of HNW services. As part of the Close Brothers management team, he oversaw a team of investment managers, as well as smaller teams focusing on discretionary management and inheritance tax.
In June 2024, it was announced that Marshall, as well as CIO Robert Alster, had left Close Brothers as part of what the company called ‘a new phase of strategic development’.
