Spear’s Review
One of the most highly respected and established women in journalism, Sarah Sands was deputy editor of the Daily Telegraph and then the first female editor of the Sunday Telegraph. She was also editor of the London newspaper the Evening Standard before becoming editor of Radio 4’s flagship Today programme in 2017. There are very few figures with a greater grasp of how the British media operates, or a more widespread network of connections at all levels of the news industry.
Sands is now a partner at the strategic communications consultancy Hawthorn Advisors, where she advises on all aspects of corporate communications, reputation management and leadership.
She is a trustee of the Science Museum and Bletchley Park, a board member of Channel 4 and Walpole, and a visiting fellow of the Reuters Institute for the Study of Journalism.
