Emma Palmer is head of family law at MSB Solicitors.

‘I’m a children specialist,’ the Liverpool-based solicitor says. ‘Children are at the heart of everything we do. I like to look for practical solutions and help families find a level of peace they haven’t had before. It can be a very traumatic process, especially in the wrong hands.’ 

She believes in focusing on the client’s objectives and strategic decision-making early on. ‘There are always urgent issues, so we make time for problem-solving and working on the choices they’re making. After that it stabilises.’

Palmer and her team work largely with international clients on inter-jurisdictional cases.
