Spear’s Review

Situated in the heart of the Alps, Collège Alpin Beau Soleil offers a beautiful environment in which to study. The combination of a modern campus, traditional but progressive values, an emphasis on laying the foundations for an active life, and strong academic results offer the type of holistic education that sets a child up for success.

With such an impressive offering, it’s little wonder that pupils come from more than 50 countries, and it boasts some famous, and even royal, alumni. The school is equipped for this, with staff well versed in discretion and security.

Skiing and other adventurous outdoors activities are encouraged as core extracurricular activities but do not detract from classroom achievement.

The college offers English and French curriculums and is a well-known gateway to the world’s most elite universities.

Academics

Average IB score is 36.7.

University and college destinations

Students go on to matriculate at some of the worlds most elite universities, including the University of Cambridge. In 2024, 46 per cent of students went to UK universities; 35 per cent to the US and 19 per cent to other global schools.

Head teacher

Principal Stuart White joined the school in 2019. With experience in senior management roles in the UK and China, he most recently served as managing director of the CATS secondary schools in Cambridge. 

Admissions 

Prospective students are first asked to complete an application form, submit copies of their academic record and write a personal essay. They will also submit references from their current school, and arrange a visit to the campus. If they are unable to travel to Switzerland, the admissions team offers virtual tours. Placement exams in maths and English are also required.
