Independent whisky adviser Blair Bowman is one of the most respected figures in his field, combining deep industry knowledge with access to an unrivalled global network of distilleries, dealers and collectors.

Named Whisky Magazine’s Communicator of the Year in 2021 and a regular columnist for Scottish Field, Bowman also advises a growing roster of private clients that includes royalty, family estates, companies and Academy Award winners. Bowman notes that his work has taken him across the world, with interest for whisky spreading in East Asia especially: ‘I spent a lot of time last year in Macau, and the passion and knowledge and interest for whisky there is enormous,’ he tells Spear’s.

Bowman also provides consultancy services across the whisky industry, with recent projects including creating a whisky menu for a luxury hospitality brand and working with suppliers to ‘make a completely bespoke service of crystal decanters’ featuring personalised engravings and individual bottle numbering.

My life is defined by a love for whisky and its extraordinary ability to bring people together. At 18, I co-founded a Whisky Society and at 21, launched World Whisky Day.
