‘I specialise in helping families with complex wealth succession needs set up structures to transition their wealth to the next generation, but also to help them be internationally mobile,’ says Naomi Rive, the Jersey-based group director and head of private wealth at ficuciary and fund services provider Highvern.

Rive works with UHNW individuals, entrepreneurs and family offices who have trust structures, property portfolios, private equity funds and philanthropic structures that often fall within the £10 million to £1 billion-plus range. 

‘It comes with a lot of responsibility managing that sort of wealth,’ Rive tells Spear’s. ‘I always say, as trustees, we are probably general practitioners: we need to be tax aware, legal aware, regulatory and compliance aware – and to know a little bit about operating businesses.’

Prior to joining Highvern, Rive was a partner at law firm Appleby, where she provided wealth structuring advice to U/HNW individuals, private banks and trust companies.
