Nick Candy

Spear’s Review

Property tycoon Nick Candy has masterminded several of the world’s most luxurious real estate developments.

He is widely regarded as a pioneer of the now widespread phenomenon of branded residences, thanks to his spearheading of the One Hyde Park project in London. The development, which launched in 2009, is still considered to be one of the most desirable addresses in the world. In 2018 Candy’s own penthouse in the development set a new record (since surpassed) for the most expensive residential property in the UK, when Candy sold it for £160 million to a company that he himself controlled. The penthouse was then reportedly listed for sale at £175 million in 2024.

Candy founded Candy & Candy (now Candy London) with his brother Christian Candy in 1999. The business acts as both a developer and an interior design firm, producing projects such as Fitzroy Place (NoHo Square) and the redevelopment of Chelsea Barracks. Nick Candy took sole ownership of the business in 2011, after which he established Candy Capital, a private family office which manages a portfolio of businesses in sectors such as fintech, commodities and sports.

In December 2024, Candy became treasurer of the UK’s Reform Party. Also in late 2024, he announced a deal with Abu Dhabi property developer Modon to create a joint venture that would focus on ‘the ultra-luxury sector’ in the region, initially, and then globally.
