Michael Aubrey, joint head of the food and agribusiness practice at Mills & Reeve, advises a mixture of agribusinesses, rural estates and farmers.

His work often involves marshalling legal expertise from different areas of the firm to help clients. Clients also rely on his expertise around the tax implications of developing land, and wealth structuring when purchasing plots or estates.

Aubrey, who has a degree in agricultural economics, supported the Wellcome Trust in its acquisition of the Co-op’s £250 million farming portfolio — the largest open market agricultural land transaction in the UK at the time.
