‘I act as a conductor of the orchestra,’ says Ann-Marie Atkins of her role as managing partner at Evelyn Partners. Overseeing the financial affairs of wealthy families and business owners, she primarily deals with clients who hold assets from £10 million up to £500 million. 

With almost three decades of experience under her belt — of which 10 have been dedicated to serving HNWs — Atkins acts as a second pair of eyes linking all aspects of a client’s tax planning arrangements, working with their network of advisers.

She acts for a diverse range of families, from those with established wealth to successful entrepreneurs and international clients. 

She also works closely with other professional advisers to ensure that all aspects of a client’s financial plan are in line with evolving legislation and personal goals. Ann-Marie has a high number of family office clients and associated trustee work. Ann-Marie can work internally with specialists as well as externally, and is keen to ensure no stone is left unturned when looking at a client’s views and objectives.

Ann-Marie truly believes in taking two steps back when evaluating a client's circumstances, assets, liabilities, preferences and views, and would always want to pull together an overview of wealth across all jurisdictions and apply a top-down view of options and planning views to consider or be clear on why they are being discounted. This involves strategic analysis of existing wealth, business assets, personal investments and non-standard investments. Clearly this involves working with other professionals and collating accurate data for round-table discussions with clients.
