Peter Headden

Spear’s Review

Peter Headden left Project Associates with Michael Farrant to launch Farrant Group in 2021. The firm manages the reputations of leading companies, political organisations and private individuals and families, navigating complex and ever-changing communications challenges.

Headden says he advises with an overall aim to ‘build, manage and protect’ the reputation of his clientele.

‘I attribute my value as a strategic communications adviser to my ability to work with complex and sensitive issues – particularly those described as “issues-rich”,’ he says. ‘I bring a deep understanding of how to execute communications strategies that meet increasing societal demands for transparency while, at the same time, recognising the importance of discretion to clients.’

Adviser Profile

As co-founder and managing director at Farrant Group, Peter Headden advises companies, governments and private individuals on all aspects of reputation management. This includes media relations, crisis and issues handling, political and regulatory counsel, profile building and strategic communications planning. In everything he does, the aim is to build, manage and protect the reputation of his clients.

Farrant Group is a global strategic communications firm that supports senior leaders to help them understand and respond effectively to reputational challenges. It specialises in the complex end of the spectrum, in response to rapid global geopolitical, societal and technological changes. The firm’s expertise includes research, insights and data, strategic positioning, issues and crisis management, campaigns, content and branding, government and political affairs, as well as support around fundraising and capital markets.

This world-class delivery has helped Farrant Group to success and rapid growth in the UK and globally since its launch in early 2021. Headden attributes his value as a strategic communications adviser to an ability to work with complex and sensitive cases – particularly those described as ‘issues-rich’. He brings a deep understanding of how to execute communications strategies that meet increasing societal demands for transparency while, at the same time, recognising the importance of discretion to clients.

A fluent Mandarin speaker, Headden has previously worked and lived in Beijing where he advised domestic and international clients on reputation management. Headden learnt that cultural values are a hugely important factor in shaping how to best manage reputations. The best advisers listen and respond according to each unique situation. Headden points out that ‘rigidly sticking to set ideas is a recipe for disaster’.
