Sam Bompas, co-founder of Bompas & Parr, first came to prominence when he began making jelly creations alongside his lifelong friend, Harry Parr.
Together, the pair create events focused around food and drink as well as brand activations for leading department stores, including Harrods, and some of the world’s largest consumer and luxury brands. Their studio aims to offer ‘polysensory’ culinary experiences that are packed with idiosyncratic delights.
They once sourced ‘10,000-year-old ice from a glacier to chill whisky’, and their ‘lava banquet’ creation involved melting down basaltic rock that was more than a billion years old.
The pair gained notoriety after masterminding London’s 2013 New Year’s Eve multisensory firework spectacle. On that occasion, spectators could not only see the fireworks, but taste the fruit: peach snow, edible banana confetti and Seville orange bubbles.
