Spear’s Review
Andrew Honnor is the founder and managing partner of Greenbrook, a communications agency that specialises in the investment industry. Greenbrook advises on reputation management around mergers, acquisitions and exits, as well as complex debt restructurings. His firm has also carved a successful niche offering clients in the private equity and hedge funds space insight around fundraising.
When dealing with top-tier entrepreneurs and private capital managers across Europe and the US, for whom Honnor offers expertise on crisis management and investor communications, discretion is key.
Honnor cut his teeth in the communications world as a special adviser in the UK government’s Department for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport, and later worked as an associate partner at Brunswick. In 2011, he served as an adviser for News International, helping the publisher deal with the fallout from the phone-hacking scandal.
Adviser Profile
In 2023, Greenbrook was ranked by Bloomberg as the #1 adviser in Europe for engaged shareholder communications, among the top 5 in Europe and top 10 globally for M&A communications by Mergermarket, and as the #1 PR and communications firm in Europe by Private Equity Wire.
Founded by Andrew Honnor in 2012, Greenbrook is a specialist communications adviser to the investment industry, with expertise in strategic communications, reputational management and crisis issues. Greenbrook is also a leading adviser on specialist debt communications and issues management, and its clients include some of the world’s leading private equity firms, hedge funds and UHNWIs.
Greenbrook advises its clients on all aspects of their business through the lens of reputation management, whether through profile and brand positioning, fundraising support, deal transactions, crisis communications or special situations. Greenbrook devises tailored communications strategies to influence key stakeholders and audiences, using both traditional media channels and the latest digital technology.
High-profile projects over recent years include supporting the senior bondholders of Metro Bank to deliver recapitalisation for the benefit of stakeholders, EQT’s transformational combination with BPEA, PrimeStone’s activist campaign at Brenntag, Triton’s P2P of Clinigen and the launch of Polus Capital Management. Greenbrook also continues to offer pro-bono support to Sohn Conference London.
Today, Greenbrook boasts a 30-strong team of advisers from backgrounds including corporate communications, journalism and private equity. ‘At a time of high media scrutiny of private equity and credit, we are fortunate to be able to advise our clients on how to navigate this highly challenging environment, where high interest rates are forcing a real reckoning among companies and investors,’ Honnor says.
