Having cut his teeth offering financial advice to business owners at HSBC for 20 years, Stephen Scutcher set up Trowlock Wealth Management, a St. James’s Place partner practice, in 2013 and has since built a sizeable book. Clients are typically entrepreneurs but also include FTSE 100 board members. 

The seasoned adviser said he usually has two to three meetings with new clients before recommending any products because he wants to gain a long-term picture of the their objectives. 

‘How can you deliver a product or a solution until you know what they’re trying to achieve?’ said Scutcher, who added that the wealth manager’s role is ‘a partnership with that client rather than just a relationship’.

Stephen Scutcher is the founder and Managing Partner of Trowlock Wealth Management LLP. A family man, keen golfer and successful business owner, Stephen has amassed over 30 years of experience in the Private Client advice sector, advising some of the most successful individuals, business owners and entrepreneurs in Britain.
