Eighty years after Peter Pan author JM Barrie wrote The Admirable Crichton – a play about a butler who uses his resourcefulness to supply his employers with their accustomed luxury after a shipwreck – The Admirable Crichton events company was born. Rolline Frewen and Johnny Roxburgh believed that Crichton epitomised their philosophy, and since 1981 they have been catering to all the events needs of HNWs.

Managing director Ruth Lawton-Owen has three decades of experience in the events industry, having worked in some of London’s most unique venues. ‘We’re very lucky with who we work with,’ she tells Spear’s. Most famously, the company held a royal warrant for many years as caterers to the Prince of Wales, now King Charles. She pins her success to her ‘can-do attitude’ and says that her clients know she’ll ‘always be available and won’t cut corners’.
