Canaccord Genuity investment director Paul Derrien began his career at NatWest in 1994 and has built a considerable body of work managing direct equity-based and multi-manager portfolios for private individuals, trusts, pensions, charities and institutional clients.

He told Spear's that the business has been growing with Derrien personally responsible for four teams of 10 investment managers and planners, totalling over £5.5 billion AuM. 

The firm has been strengthening its grip on the market thanks to a string of acquisitions, but that hasn’t changed its grounded approach to clients, Derrien said. This is in part thanks to a collegiate feel that creates a friendly, collaborative and open environment at the firm.
