Ian Rumens is an executive director at Ocorian, leading the company’s private client team in Jersey. Tasked with preserving and enhancing his clients’ wealth, Rumens makes full use of the expertise he has around him.

He tells Spear’s: ‘I’ve been in the army, and I recognise that, actually, while you’re still the figurehead, there are going to be people in the room who know more about the subject matter than you. We’ve got a skill set, and that’s how I run Jersey. I become more of a moderator in the room.’

With a background in private client law on the UK mainland, Rumens now provides structuring and asset advice to HNW individuals, family offices and trusts in Jersey and internationally.
