Brewin Dolphin boss Robin Beer was still some months short of his second anniversary in the role when it was announced – in March 2022 – that the wealth manager would be acquired by the Royal Bank of Canada.

Following shareholder approval of the deal, Beer was confirmed as the chief executive of the newly-formed RBC Brewin Dolphin. In this post, Beer would be tasked with overseeing the integration of RBC's existing UK and Ireland wealth clients into the Brewin Dolphin structure.

With offices across the UK, Jersey and the Republic of Ireland, the combined business boasts some £50 billion in assets under management – placing it among the largest money managers in the British Isles. Annual profits are expected to reach some £300 million (pre tax).
