Dr Edward Ball is among the pioneers who have brought new surgical hair restoration techniques to the UK.

A qualified surgeon and a cosmetic medicine practitioner, he took a fellowship in hair restoration surgery in Beverly Hills under the guidance of Dr Craig L Ziering, after which he became clinical director at his mentor’s own practice in the UK.

He subsequently founded The Maitland Clinic in 2015. Ball was himself one of the first patients to try out hair restoration under the ARTAS robotic system, an experience which the clinic says ‘gave him an invaluable insight into the experience of hair loss and hair-loss treatment’. He is well placed to understand the thought processes of his own patients as a result.
