‘A specialist interest of mine is acting for third parties that become embroiled in financial negotiations or court proceedings for trust beneficiaries,’ said Roopa Ahluwalia, a partner at Keystone Law who has more than 20 years’ experience working with HNW and UHNW clients.

‘I have seen a significant increase in these types of cases in the last few years, especially when acting for families where wealth has been created over several generations,’ she added. 

Ahluwalia has particular expertise in financial settlements on divorce or separation, complex children issues and pre- and post-nupital agreements. She noted that career highlights have included acting for a husband in a complicated £100 million divorce where the assets were principally held in land in individual names as opposed to company or trust structures, and a case that involved advising a parent in an urgent abduction and international relocation case following the unlawful retention of the children by the other parent.
