Paul Ayres, the national head of private client services for BDO, advises clients on all aspects of their tax affairs. This can include overseeing tax filing in the UK and abroad, guiding clients through estate planning matters and generally ensuring they optimise their tax position. 

His clients are mainly entrepreneurs who approach him for assurance on their tax obligations – for example, domicile and residence issues and real estate transactions in London – and Ayres often collaborates with clients’ other advisers.

Ayres’ main goal is to deliver a coherent strategy to help his sophisticated clientele balance their complex affairs and ‘achieve their long-term personal and business goals’.

Paul Ayres is the National Head of BDO UK’s multi-award-winning Private Client Services team and the Chair of their Global Private Client Services Centre of Excellence. 

Paul has extensive experience working with entrepreneurs, entertainers and both UK and international families. With over 25 years of experience, Paul advises on all aspects of personal tax affairs, including overseeing tax filings both in the UK and abroad, advising on estate planning matters, and generally ensuring clients optimise their tax position. Paul takes a collaborative approach to working with his clients’ other advisers, whilst always recognising that ultimately, he is advising the client on what is best for them.
