Spear’s Review
‘We’re very fortunate to do lots of interesting work,’ says Petra Warrington, a partner at Wedlake Bell. Specialising in non-contentious and transactional work around art, cultural property and luxury assets — including sale and purchase, restitution claims, provenance and authenticity — she instructs a range of clients, from artists and collectors to owners and businesses.
Warrington developed her interest in art at the renowned Courtauld Institute. ‘I came into my career through the art route rather than the legal route.’ She then spent seven years at Hunters and had a one-year stint at Charles Russell Speechlys before joining Wedlake Bell in 2022 alongside star partners Tim Maxwell and Rudy Capildeo.
She tells Spear’s that her cases are primarily high-value, and she often takes on American, European and Middle Eastern clients.
