A challenging environment is no deterrent for Jamie Fobert Architects, a firm accustomed to designing buildings for complex sites. All its commissions require unique and innovative solutions to resolve testing site constraints, and the firm is skilled at creating ‘an architecture of accommodation, knitting into existing fabric’.
Fobert left David Chipperfield Architects in 1996 to set up his own firm; a first solo milestone was the Aveda store in Marylebone. The practice is working on private houses in Dublin, London and Trinidad, and has garnered several awards, including the RIBA and English Heritage Award, and the BD Individual House Architect of the Year Award.
