Just high ambitions, clarity of thinking and imagination in abundance.’ This is the motto on the website of architect Christophe Egret and urban designer David West, who founded Studio Egret West in 2004, fusing architecture and urban design to ‘bring surprise and delight to placemaking’. They once built a wall of giant green fish to improve the façade of the Stratford Centre.

‘Architecture is too often seen in isolation from its urban context. Planning is often seen as soulless, unspecific proposals that gather dust on shelves,’ the duo say. Projects include major urban redevelopments with commercial, residential and community focus.
