Described as ‘the art collector’s architect’, Thomas Croft has designed homes for art dealers, collectors and celebrities. He has recently completed a third project for Swedish art dealer Per Skarstedt, and a new project for the Howard de Walden estate.
Croft worked for Richard Meier in New York and Rick Mather in London before setting up his own firm in 1995. His work often involves tinkering with old buildings or creating new ones that blend with their historical setting. Although Croft is ‘extremely pessimistic’ about the future for the next generation – especially with regard to Brexit – he also believes there are opportunities, and that ‘fortune favours the brave.’
