Collins & Hoy partner Bernadette Hoy has been instrumental in the growth of the firm (formerly Garside & Hoy) over 25 years.

‘We cover all aspects of family law advice with a particular interest in complex financial cases, often with an international element,’ explains Hoy. ‘Where appropriate for clients, I work on a collaborative basis, which has the benefit of avoiding court litigation.' 

She has practiced as a collaborative family lawyer since 2007 and is a member of the Resolution collaborative family law working committee.

Hoy notes an increased demand for dispute resolution, with more enquiries for mediation and the collaborative process. Clients of the firm, which was set up by Hoy’s father in 1952, come from various backgrounds, most through personal recommendation, seeking ‘personal bespoke service’.
