Richard Bate leads the wills, trusts, tax and probate team nationally for Weightmans, a top 45 UK law firm with over 1,200 people working from offices in Birmingham, Glasgow, Leeds, Leicester, Liverpool, London, Manchester and Newcastle.

Bate is a full member of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners and Law Society private client section, with broad experience of working with clients from myriad backgrounds, having worked in large commercial and smaller high-street firms.

He specialises in a range of private client work, including areas such as inheritance tax mitigation and succession issues. He also routinely presents estate planning seminars for large organisations and companies and is a visiting lecturer at the University of Law in Manchester.
