Media partner Christopher Hutchings continues to build on the momentum of winning the privacy case of Ali v Channel 5 in 2018 – a landmark judgement which he says ‘will set a precedent for privacy cases, particularly those arising from TV broadcasts and will put Hamlins at the front of such legal complaints’.

The former Carter-Ruck equity partner has been in the industry for more than 30 years, specialising in defamation and privacy law, acting for a wide array of privacy-conscious clientele. He’s led the Hamlins media team since 2010 and says his department will continue to go from strength to strength. ‘We have moved up the legal directories, becoming one of only a few high-profile firms in this specialist area of media law,’ he says.
