Dee Fitzhugh

Spear's Review

It took little over three years for Dee Fitzhugh to rise through OCM Wealth Management’s ranks, moving from her role as a senior advisory support in 2016, becoming a wealth manager in 2018 and latterly a senior wealth manager in 2020. She provides HNWs with ‘first-class service’, according to the firm and, in all, has close to a decade of experience in private client service.

Fitzhugh specialises in looking after UK-based clients, many of whom are entrepreneurs, business owners, HNWs or trusts. The adviser believes she has learnt about service ‘from the best’, having been mentored by CEO Jason Stather-Lodge, whom she admires for ‘always putting the client first’.

At the time of writing, Fitzhugh is on track to becoming a chartered adviser by the end of 2021.

Adviser Profile

Dee Fitzhugh is a Senior Wealth Manager at OCM Wealth Management Ltd, where she has worked since 2016. She originally joined the firm as a technical support assistant and progressed her way to her current position by working closely with the other advisers. Her most recent role came about in 2020 when she was promoted to Senior Wealth Manager in recognition of the first-class service she provides to the clients.

As a Senior Wealth Manager, as well as advising her own clients, Dee is also involved in managing and mentoring others in her team. Having progressed so well through the organisation allows her to lead by example and inspire others.

After completing full time education, Dee didn't really know what she wanted to do, so looked for an apprenticeship in an area that would involve people and numbers. After speaking to various accountancy firms, she came across a financial adviser and has been in love with the industry ever since.

Dee is one paper away from Chartered status with the CII which she hopes to complete by the end of 2021. She was drawn to OCM because of its excellent reputation for delivering a professional client-focused service, and the firms' ethos of supporting its staff to realise their potential. She believes that this is highlighted by the impressively high number of clients that come to OCM via existing client referral and its track record of client retention.

Dee believes that OCM's success is in part because of the firm's ability to deliver a powerful client-focused proposition, which brings together an Independent Chartered Financial Planning Firm, a Discretionary Asset Manager and Tax planning specialist. This ensures they are able to deliver a seamless, cost-efficient service to all their clients and is something that she is proud to be part of.
