James Forbes


James Forbes heads up Strutt & Parker’s Knightsbridge and Belgravia office. He joined the firm in 2003, and has specialised in prime central London property since 1997.

‘I am one of the very few central London agents who regularly sells property in the £20 million-plus market, including a number of off-market and confidential transactionals,’ he tells Spear’s.

‘I provide advice on residential real estate, investment purchase and disposal issues in prime central London. A large majority of my transactions take place off-market, so extensive market knowledge and an exceptional track record are a must, particularly if the market is in any way unpredictable or uncertain.’

Forbes’ track record includes some of the ‘very best properties, and I have achieved a number of record sales for my clients. One notable career highlight was creating and delivering on the sale of one of the most expensive houses in London in 2012. I also have a unique role of advising UHNW individuals and top new home developers across prime central London,’ he adds. ‘This gives me the knowledge to advise on all aspects of the super prime market.’

Strutt & Parker was bought by BNP Paribas in 2017, and as a result has access to a substantial and experienced private wealth team across the globe in all the key financial centres. ‘We specialise in properties at the mid-to-top end of the market, having achieved a number of record sales in terms of capital value and rates per square feet in prime central London,’ Forbes tells Spear’s.
