Victoria Price

Spear's Review

A stalwart of EY, having been with the firm for more than 15 years, Victoria Price heads the UK & Ireland private client tax team within EY Private, which allows entrepreneurial and HNW private clients to benefit from the ‘big four’ firm’s wider infrastructure. She advises on a wide range of tax affairs from estate planning to the various needs of family offices.

Hailing from the north of England, Price is described as a ‘passionate advocate’ of helping young people launch businesses. She is a partner sponsor of EY’s Entrepreneur of the Year programme, supporting some of Britain’s most dynamic and ambitious business leaders. A proud working mother, Price champions several firm-wide policies allowing for part-time work and is heavily involved with EY’s philanthropic pursuits.

Adviser Profile

“It is a privilege working with private clients because you become part of their journey,” says Victoria Price, Head of EY’s UK&I Private Tax Team, an experienced adviser to family offices and private businesses. “Whether supporting clients through particular transactions or helping them create efficient structures for their corporates and private wealth, I aim to gain a deep understanding of their priorities which allows me to proactively advise on the big picture and build long-term relationships.”

EY Private Tax is now a 500-strong multidisciplinary team with a breadth of technical experience across personal and corporate tax advisory. Its ethos is to provide seamless support to clients from a wide base of knowledge and to connect them into the much broader EY offering for private clients beyond tax. “This will be more important than ever in today’s rapidly changing environment, to ensure we help clients successfully navigate challenging times.”

Amongst its initial wins, the team has advised on the debt-backed acquisition of a £2bn asset in Australia, assisted an international entrepreneur with a global tax review, helped an HNW family relocate its family office, and structured the sale of a £50mn family business.

Well-versed in the practices of the Big Four, she says the main advantage of EY Private for private clients, many of whom take a hands-on approach compared to larger corporates, is a team who can really understand their wider business interests. “That way clients receive top-quality advice beyond the immediate tax questions at hand,” she says.

“Over the many years that I have worked with private clients, I have learnt that things can change quickly, which means being responsive and agile is critical to success. It’s so important to spend time together right from the beginning, so we can build trust and identify the right solutions for them in the long run.”
