Stephen Hofer is often called the ‘aviation attorney to the stars’.

‘The first film star I ever worked with was Arnold Schwarzenegger, and since then I’ve represented over 100 actors, Oscar and Grammy winners, sports stars and other celebrities,’ he says. Hofer founded California-based aviation and business firm Aerlex in 2005, and has since overseen hundreds of aircraft transactions. 

Hofer’s job is to ‘make an incredibly complicated area as simple as humanly possible, so buyers don’t get bogged down or paralysed by the complexities. The ramifications of getting it wrong can involve millions of dollars of tax exposure... so making certain you get the structure of each deal right is intellectually very stimulating.’
