US aircraft giant Textron Aviation is a leading general-aviation authority and home to the Beechcraft, Cessna and Hawker brands, which together account for more than half of all general-aviation aircraft flying. They encompass the Citation and Hawker business jets as well as a wealth of other types.
Tom Perry, who studied aeronautical engineering at Bristol University, has been in his current role with Cessna, as vice-president of sales for Europe, since September 1992 and is one of the best-known faces in private jet sales.
His role is an important one as Europe is one of the largest markets for the Citation family of business jets, with more than 800 examples flying.
On the flight plan in the near future is the first journey for Cessna’s new Citation Longitude, which can fly for 3,500 nautical miles on a fuel payload of 1,600 pounds — making non-stop routes from New York to Paris, London to Dubai and Singapore to Sydney possible.
Further ahead, Perry will be tasked with notching up sales for the brand new Citation Hemisphere, which has just been unveiled by the company as being in development.
