Founded in 2007, Cult Wines has grown in double digits. The premise is simple, says MD Tom Gearing: to exploit the full potential of wine investment for its clientele. ‘We approach it from a more analytical perspective, but also provide a solution to every single client,’ he says. ‘We look to be experts in what fine wine investors and collectors want.’

Gearing – a runner-up on the 2012 series of The Apprentice – was set on the City before joining Cult, founded by his father Philip. Although focused on investment, the firm understands the lifestyle aspects of wine collecting. ‘It ticks all the boxes in terms of financial objectives – but also the lifestyle and passion element,’ he says.
