When the phone rings on a Monday morning at property consultants Lake & Co, ‘it could be anyone, from somebody asking us to find or sell them a home up to £50 million in prime central London or the country, to a development deal worth anywhere up to £500 million, to someone just calling to let us know that there’s a leak in their ceiling that needs to be fixed,’ says Dewey Atkins, managing director and co-founder of the London-based firm. Atkins, who started his career at Foxtons in 2003, observes that the gloomy Brexit forecasts don’t seem to be playing out in the super-prime housing markets, where the company frequently operates.
