After a short spell at the respected London agency Winkworth, Dominic Spencer-Churchill joined forces with Kirsty Allsopp (now star of Channel 4’s Location, Location, Location) to set up a consultancy finding properties in and around London for private clients.

After Allsopp signed an exclusive contract with Channel 4, Spencer- Churchill moved to set up his own company. The result was DS Churchill, a boutique agency which has grown steadily over the past decade, moving into sales and lettings, and establishing an office in Oxford.

As well as its London buying service, which draws on Spencer- Churchill’s 15 years’ experience of the prime central London market, the firm now provides an end-to-end property management service.The latter draws on Spencer-Churchill’s network of reliable and professional contractors to keep clients’ rental properties running smoothly.‘Happy tenants tend to stay longer in a property,’ he says.

For Spencer-Churchill, the advantage to private clients in using a smaller buyer or management company is in the higher level of client service. ‘We will always go that extra mile to give all parties an outstanding level of service,’ he says. ‘Our focus is on our clients and building long-term relationships with them; not least as all of our business comes by word of mouth.’

Discretion counts too, with the majority of the firm’s clients preferring to conduct their custom as privately as possible. ‘Most of our transactions are conducted off market and privately with the utmost discretion,’ he says.
