‘We give our clients an advantage,’ says Prime Purchase’s director Guy Meacock of the service offered by the firm.‘Through a combination of detailed local knowledge, a servant’s heart and integrity, we elevate a client’s property search in a way they are highly unlikely to be able to do themselves.’
Indeed, the property-buying arm of Savills is grounded in an understanding of the ‘highly emotive’ experience of buying one’s own home, and the need for ‘objective’ advice with a ‘human touch’.
‘That ensures clients buy the very best property they can and never look back – peace of mind, at arm’s-length,’ he says.‘Anyone can be sold a property, but selling genuinely impartial advice of real quality is still something few competitors do.’
Patience is key, and confidence to really manage a client’s expectations from the very outset, notes Meacock, who joined the firm in 2005.‘Experience informs you and teaches you that over-promising only leads to frustration and probable disaffection with the whole process,’ he says. ‘I’d like to think clients would consider me to have integrity and hopefully a bit of charisma. Property does have a reputation, it is full of excessively confident people, but in the right context, it can and often does open doors.’
Covid has been an unsurprising theme of Meacock’s practice in 2020. The gravity and scale of the pandemic proved to be a ‘real catalyst’ for some clients, he says. ‘Wealthy clients have come out of it with a hunger to get on with their lives. Spending money on having a better home has proved to be top of the list for many.’
