The International Gene Clinic advises its patients on a variety of issues relating to inherited conditions, with its offering including pre-pregnancy planning, genetic testing and personalised preventative care assessments.

‘Some people attend the clinic for a diagnosis, others come with a diagnosis for information about the condition and how likely it is to affect other family members,’ the clinic says.

Specialists include founder Prof Anand Saggar, a consultant in the South West Thames Regional Genetics Department at St George’s Hospital Medical School (where he is also an honorary senior lecturer), and Dr Paul Brennan from the Northern Genetics Service at the International Centre for Life in Newcastle.

Clinicians are equipped to provide diagnostic expertise, as well as follow-up appointments, treatment options, risk assessments and reproductive options – as well as referrals to specialists where necessary.
