Spear’s Review

Nick Collins was named McLaren Group Holdings CEO in April 2025, around the same time the icon in British supercar manufacturing was acquired by CYVN Holdings, an Abu Dhabi government-owned investment fund.

Collins has spent his career working in the automotive industry, including many years at Ford and, more recently, Jaguar Land Rover. In his current role, he oversees McLaren’s commercial car business, its non-controlling minority stake in McLaren Racing and the brand’s newly formed licensing business.

Following in the footsteps of supercar giants such as Lamborghini and Aston Martin, McLaren is said to be developing an electric SUV, showing Collins is shaping the brand for current customers’ tastes. Also on the cards is a new design studio, and an expansion beyond two-seat car models.

With greater investment comes potentially greater success, and under Collins’ leadership McLaren may soon be reaching new heights.
